From the Publisher:
Conceived in 1977, the Rephotographic Survey project was an effort to locate and rephotograph the sites of the government survey photographs of the late-nineteenth century. The entire project, 120 pairs of images, is presented here along with an essay by chief photographer Mark Klett on the methodology and problems encountered with rephotography and an evaluation by critic Paul Berger of the issues raised by rephotography. This is a remarkable look at the influence of time on nature.
Condition and Remarks:
First paperback printing, signed by Mark Klett on the title page. The condition of this copy falls just shy of Excellent. There are some minor flaws to the front cover that include a very light crease that can be seen in strong or raking light running from top to bottom approximately 1.5″ from the binding. There is also a very light fold to the lower front corner with extremely small marks at the tips off both top and bottom corners. Otherwise this is an excellent copy.
